We currently have merge publications that replicate to client computers using a pull subscription with the agent running on the distributor. We use a remote distributor. Clients run on Windows 2000. We are upgrading to Windows XP and the subscriptions fail when attempting to run the agent on the distributor. The pull subscriptions work if we run the run the agent on the subscriber. What are the pros and cons of running the agent on the subscriber vs running the agent on the distributor? |

That's what I come up with. What about network traffic payloads? I think it would be increased if the agent is on the subscriber. Anyone know? |

Not necessary since it'll not get additional data from publisher, unless you use distributor for other subscribers. |
