We would like to setup a "warm" SQL backup. From initial research it seems that one option is "log shipping". In our case, we have all MS SQL 2000 Enterprise databases. Some of these are website databases and a couple are ERP application databases. The ones with applications have a maximum of 25 users entering sales, order, POs etc. Servers where logs will be shipped will all be at remote locations. Is "log shipping" a good option? Are there any third-part tools that you have experience with that would make this task easier? Are there any risks associated with using "log shipping"?Notalian |

You may lose data on target server if source server or link goes wrong between log shipping interval. Take look at Xosoft WanSync HA for sql. |
