Morning all,

I have a database that is currently replicated (this was setup before i started) using merge replication from serverA to serverB where serverA is a production box and ServerB is a backup. The reason it was setup with merge replication was because if serverA goes down, B can be brought online as the primary and then as soon as serverA is rebuilt it will start syncing again.

I want to change this method (as there are numerous conflicts going on which i think are due to the application design) to transactional replication and am fine doing that. If my serverA went down i would bring serverB online but after building serverA again what method would you use to get the data up to date on serverA? I have around 10hours downtime overnight so could potentially do a backup/restore. Any feedback on my methods would be very appreciated.

Not much options other than backup/restore then reset replication. If you can keep server b as primary, will be easier.
