Hi. I was wondering if someone could clear up a DTS conundrum?I've set up a DTS package to import data from some Oracle views to similar tables in a SQL Server 2000 database. The import is done via an ODBC entry on the server itself and actually it all works perfectly. The conundrum I mentioned relates to the machine on which I test and execute the DTS Package. If I do this on a workstation with the same ODBC entry set up on it as on the SQL Server I can test and execute the package however no data is returned when I preview the SQL import statement or execute the package, although it executes without any errors. However, if I run these same tests on the SQL Server itself all is well. I can both see preview data and executing the package results in data being imported into my SQL database. So why should this be? I'm sure there's a vary rational, straightforward explanation for this but I'm afraid I'm not seeing it. I would therefore very much welcome enlightment.Regards,YaHozna. |
