I have a .dbf file and i want to import data into sql server.If i select dbase in source in export/import wizard it asks me for dsn and username and pwd.Please guide me thru thr process

I sort of...umh...stole this from another forum:

"Create a DSN using the driver 'Microsoft Foxpro VFP driver', choose the Database type as 'Free Table Directory' and path as the path for the DBF files. Then choose this DSN as your source under DTS."

To create a DSN you need to go to Administrative Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC) -> System DSN -> Add...

i have followed the steps what you wrote,but what should i write in username and pwd.

Hm, if you didn't create one when you made the DSN I guess you can just leave them blank...? Have you tried it?

When I just tested this (on Windows 2000) the VFP ODBC driver didn't ask for a username or password. Are you sure you selected the right driver?
