barmalej writes "Hi,
Looking for fresh and not trivial ideas to solve the next problem in an optimal way.

Source data for SQL table is stored in a tab separated .txt file. In fact it could be OK if it was no restriction on amount of columns in SQL table but it is 1024 or so. I can have more columns of sourse data, let's say 2000. So I have to split the table into several ones and then join them based on row number for further processing.

Question 1. Known ways/solutions to extract data from txt file and import to SQL tables from seleted columns, possibly not successive. It must be not manual way.

Question 2. Is it possible to make a view that has more then 1024 columns? Then I can recreate the whole table if I need. I have not found direct answer in BOL

3. Will it be any change in Yukon for columns amount?

Performance is not very critical. Amount of rows is also not big 200-300 records"
