Sachin writes "Hi All,

I am using DTS to transform data from Text file into SQL Table.

Text file contains more than 15,000 records.

I want to keep pushing the records into table even if errors occurs.

However, for all the errorneous records, I want event logs to be generated
into the System.

So for example, out of 15000 records, 1,000 records are duplicates then

I want 14,000 reocrds to be successfully inserted and commited into the SQL
Table

and 1,000 event logs or atleast one to be generated with the detail why
record insert failed.

How can I do this?

I have even selected the package property "Write completion status to even
log".

However, DTS is not generating any event logs for any errors/exceptions.

It is generating event logs for the successful exection of the Package.

What could be wrong?

Any help or pointer.

Thanks in advance.

Sachin"

Go to DTS Designer in Enterprise Manager. Go to Properties. You will see a tab called Logging. You can enable logs and also store the status of completion in a text file.

Hope this helps
