I have rewritten an Access database in asp.net I imported my tables from Access to SQL Server using the import wizard. However, during my developemnt of the system I needed to add some fields, ids, change field types etc on my SQL tables. Now 4 months on I need to import the latest data from the Access tables so that the system can be tested. If I use DTS it often errors as some of fields do not now match. Is there an easy way that I can now inport the data to my sql tables that do not quite match the original Access ones. TIA |

| Hey Pinto,This may be a 'long way around' but normally what I do is create a table in Access housing identical to that on the server, copy and paste all the data into it. And then import that to the server. bit of a pain in the ass but sometimes its the only way to get past the data problems.Select * from users where clue > 0 |

Hi Auric,Thanks for that suggestion. I had a go at exporting from Access instead of importing from SQL and as you say it seems a bit longer but works. I can also get rid of the some of the null fields in dates in the Access tables before I export them which will help when the data reaches my web page. That's a job for Monday morning now |
