I have created a DTS and am attempting to execute it in a stored procedure. When I do I get this error.DTSRun OnError: DTSStep_DTSDataPumpTask_1, Error = -2147467259 (80004005) Error string: Error opening datafile: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. I have scheduled the dts as a job and it works fine that way. Why am I getting a login error when going through a sp?

In your case Job is run under the security credentials of ur SQL Server Agent Start up account and sp is run under the credentials of your domain account by which u have logged in.So just login by the correct user which has access to the specified resources on network which are mentioned in ur DTS Package.Just do it and let me know whether u got it working or not?Waiting 4 ur reply.RegardsRishi

I am logged in as the same user as the SQL Server Agent startup account and got a different error. Something like access permission to datafile. So I changed Start Up Service account to the same account. Now it is working like a charm! Thanks for your help.
