zuwari writes "i want to copy changes(view table) that i have made in my sql server db to other sql server db on my client side.(im using mssql 2000 server on windows 2000 server)

Usually when we want to export some table or view from one sql db to other sql db, we can choose 'copy object and data between SQL Server Databases' and then we can choose the table that we want to copy, right?

I only want to copy 6 new view that i have created but the problem is that, when finished i realised that the name of the view that i have copy is wrong. Not only that, others data on my other sql server db also have been deleted during the proses of exporting data. What's wrong here ?

Do i have other choices to undo this process or retrive back the data that have been deleted ?

( sorry for my bad english, hope u understand it ! )"

Your choices for undo or bring back deleted data are to either buy a tool that can process the log file and restore records, although I don't know if the actions through that wizard are logged, or your better bet is to just restore it from a backup. You DO have backups, don't you?

As for the copy changes wizard, that may not be the best way to go. Typically I have only used that when I needed a full copy of a database, for example to refresh my test/dev system with a copy of the QA system. Although even in this case, if the database is of any size, a backup and restore would be better. If you are trying to use this to deploy objects into production I STRONGLY discourage this approach and encourage you to generate a script of the object to be transferred and then just execute the script in the new database. This is particularly easy for changes to Views.
