| This is about the deployment of a simple VB6 app that I wrote. The app will fire a DTS package, and the DTS will put a text file into the client’s C Drive.The app has a reference to dtspkg.dll as I have set it. Of course as every deployment trouble, the app works fine on my machine, but fails on the target ones.I have googled the issue, and tried different ways. Here are steps I have taken, and related resources I found. The target machine is a NT box with SP3.VB6 Package and deployment wizard to create a setup program and run the setup.Copy dtspkg.dll into user’s C:\Program Files\AppDir\” and run Regsvr32.exe cmd with various options.The error is: LoadLibrary(“xxx”) failed. GetLastError returns 0x000007e.I am login as an admin so the permission should not be an issue, and I have tried to register the dtspkg.dll from my machine, as well as the one from sql server, just in case one of them may be corrupted.The app will run with a run-time error ‘429’ ActiveX component can’t create object.I’d appreciate any help.About Redistributing DTS with your programhttp://www.sqldts.com/default.aspx?225 |
