| I created a stored procedure that creates a DTS package on the fly using the sp_OA stored procedures. The package is very simple; it just copies data from a single SQL Server table to a table in an Access mdb file. When the stored prcedure is executed in a step in Sql Server Agent, it starts and inserts a lot of rows, but evntually fails. The logile shows : Step error description : The numbe of failing rows exceeds the maximum number specified. (I specify zero).Step error code : 8004206APrior to calling the Execute method, I save teh package to a structured storage file.I can open the file and run the package without any errors. It cannot be a security problem, since it occurs after hundreds of thousands of rows have been successfully inserted.Any thoughts? |

| The source table has a twin, so I set up another stored procedure to do the same thing with the twin into a twin Access file. By twin I mean identical structure, paths, etc. Imagine one has data from one calendar month and the twin has the prior calendar month.I also setup both procedures to create DTS exception logs. Both procedures fail when executed by the Agent again. Both at the exact same record number, 2,091,648. The data for the failing rows are not the same. |
