Mark writes "I need to replicate data from measuring instruments that can be affected by external elements creating data spikes and noise. Is there a way of testing the incoming data against previous entries to establish the viability of the data and to transform the data during replication to affect data smoothing. I am considering using DTS withing transactional replication, but I don't yet know how to implement DTS from within transactional replication. Any help would be much appreciated."

why do you need dts in replication?

it sounds redundant. you use replication to copy data which is the same logic as dts.
