I have 2 SQL Server databases called Demo and Dev. I exported Demo (as Demo.bak) and want to import it into Dev. When I use Restore Database in Enterprise Manager specifying the From device it automatically chooses the Demo logical and physical data file names (in the Options tab of Restore database) instead of Dev logical and physical data file names and so it would overwrite the existing data in Demo (not the same as the export in Demo.bak)

Is there a way I can specify which data files I want the data to be imported into?

The Import Data wizard does not work as there is not an option to specify the Data Source as a .bak file.

I need to use the Demo.bak file as I no longer have access to Demo database.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks.
