what happens to text columns when they get bcp'ed out?

Truncated to 8000?

Going csv

The project from hell...the "developer" knew access...thought text was Access text...painful...

I'll be finding out soon I guess...any comments (sympathy) appreciated...

It shouldn't!!

Look at the -n and -N switches Brett. Try and use SQL's native format modes as often as possible.
.. Or is that going to screw things up (CSV)?

Thanks for the response...let you know what happens...

AND all of this is dynamic...searching for a reference in every column in very table...

To build a table of references, then to build a cursor to bcp out the targeted rows...

Project out of hand..(and out of mind)

wish I was a consultant...
