I need to get this information from a database.
I told them to detache it, make a copy and email me the copy.
That way I could be sure I got everything.

Is there another way to get a copy of the store procedures and dts packages.

Yikes, detach means downtime. Just have them script them out using the SSMS GUI. They'll need to save each DTS package to a file as it's stored in msdb database.
