Joseph writes "Hi,

I have a data that I copied from an informix database into a SQL 2000 server. To copy the data from Informix to SQL, I had to convert date fields to nvarchar(50). Now that I have them in SQL, I would like to convert them to datetime (mmddyyyy).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Joe"

What format are the dates in at the moment?

A datetime is a decimal number not mmddyyyy. Any date in format yyyymmdd can be implicitely converted to a datetime.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
