| hi i have a problem i made server muonline n now i want to make different one with different version n there is a problem i try to format my pc n still not working like it should i have somethink in my files from the server i had b4 n i was wounder if i can delete all my history? so if i instal again sql 2000 the files wont be there like i never had this server or files b4 if some one can explain to me how to do it it would be perfect + please be specific i dont know much about sql. thanx yoshi. |

| didnt understand why you want format pc? are you asking for creating different copy of your db? if yes, isnt it enough to backup your db and restore it with a new name? |

| OK. well i have a problem i made a server mu online... n i don't know how but somehow some of the file saved in back up (i cant find them or even see them) i did format of my PC n this files r still there. now i want to make different server mu online on different files n there is a problem i cant make new one if the old files r there. so i just want to ask if there is anyway to fix it so i would have no history or files from old server I'm not an expert so please if u know the answer for it help me n please write exactly what i have to do ( for example go start>Microsoft SQL>enterprise manager) n how to go to this files don't use any short cuts please. |

| Ok I'll explain in ya style.Which file ya talking ab't? Is it backup filz or mdf filz? If its backup file ya have to restore othrwise ya 'll have to attach? see ya booksonline.thanx. |

| Your description is really confusing. Muonline is database not server.You have default instance installed which will be your Server name.If all your databases are working well then why you have to mess with restore in it. You can use: ALter database <dbname> modify file to modify filename. Post your question clearly so you get help. |
