| I am running DTS and importing from an Excel spreadsheet. I have a column defined as nvarchar(20) on the SQL Server side that receives the data from the spreadsheet. However, some data values for this column are not being imported correctly (appear as null). Numeric values are being copied fine, but any alphnumeric values are not. I have confirmed that the data in the column for alphanumeric data is not too long for the column. The first row of data (after the heading row) has a numeric value in this column, while the second row of data has a alphanumeric value. Am I correct that DTS is "looking" at the content of the data and doing it's own transformations based on the type of value it finds for each column of the first row's data? I have tried using both single transformation and transoformations for each column and this did not change anything. Has anyone else seen this and is this something that can be set up within DTS and/or done via scripting? Thanks for the help,Jon |
