I have been translating an old dBase5 system to SQL--into DTS packages. Each time I run DTS packages, they produce details like: the process running, start and end times, and number of records.

Perhaps this question has been asked, but here's mine: I'd like to capture this data for a summarization process. Any idea how I can? The reason is: I wish to create another DTS package solely for the purposes of producing an SQL table with this information from all my DTS packages. Or I could put the summary capture process in a sproc and kick it off in an 'SQL Task' element at the end of my last DTS package process.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

noone is replying, so I'll start it off;

In msdb database there are some tables you might find some the information you want:
sysdtspackagelog
sysdtspackages
sysdtssteplog
sysdtstasklog

You will have to turn on logging in the dts package.
It's not too difficult to report off those tables...
