| Roger writes "Hi,I have created a DTS copy object task package which copies a particular table from one database server to another. I have selected the drop destination object option. The package is wrapped in a scheduled job to run once each night. I can see that the destination table was dropped and recreated by inspecting the new system create date. The problem is that sometimes no records are copied to the newly created destination table but yet the job reports success! Is there anyway I can trap for this within the DTS task or scheduled job so that it truly reports a failure if no actual records are copied? Thanks,Roger" |

| Hi Roger..I dnt know whether u have tried this or not...U can go to design package screen ... right click on empty space available...select the Package properties... the third tag after entering into Package Properties is "Logging" where u can define whether u wanna that package to notify for the failure in your windows event log file or u can specify your own error log file in case of some kind of failure in your package.....I hope this will solve ur problem ...if it dsnt mail me your package script and table script...I will cretaily have a look into it and let u know what I can do for u ... if possible.Thanks.Rishi |
