| Totally new to SQL*Server. I was just asked to export rows from a Table using the DTS Import/Export Wizard (to a comma delimited flat-file). It was very simple, but I need to Schedule a Job to do this export once a week. Just learned how to schedule a Job to EXEC a stored procedure. How do I schedule a Job to start an Export of one table? Thanks!R Miller |

From EM right click on the DTS package and select Schedule. |

| Thanks for the reply, but how do I create a DTS package ?I've been doing the Export using some wizard that prompts me for all the steps, then spits out a .CSV file (this works well). I just need to schedule this EXPORT to run weekly, I'm familiar with EM, just don't know how to creat a DTS package. Thanks!R Miller |

| You need to use the save option on the Wizard, this will create a DTS package (that you can look at and alter and schedule from Enterprise Manager) and on the same screen you need to select the Schedule DTS package for later execution option and put your settings into there. On the Start menu somewhere you should have an import and export data option which will allow you to create and alter packages. When you are feeling braver you may want to look at BCP in BOLsteveTo alcohol ! | Yes BOL is Books Online. BCP is an alternative to DTS and is preferred by many to DTS. It's explained in BOL. I think at the moment you may find DTS easier.steveAnd how is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. |

| create a job in enterprise manager, choose as an command line, and run bcp command in it, set run time and that's it. Read the help file for more. |
