| Hi,I have to import a text file from vb.net to sql 2000 using dts. What are the steps involved? Must I first create a package and a sp in sql?Someone please please help me.Thanks |

| Just one time import? - just run "dtswiz" from command prompt, and step through the wizard.Or do you need to this from your VB program at the request of the user ?You do have alternatives to DTS in the bcp utility or the BULK INSERT command.Have the user call a stored procedure with the filename as input parameter,the sp then does the import of the requested file by using either:BULK INSERT or bcp or DTS.rockmoose |
