EXEC sp_makewebtask
@outputfile = 'F:\temp\Parts.xml',
@query = 'SELECT fpartno as PartNo, fdescript as Description FROM abm2mdata00.dbo.view_inv_latest_standard WHERE fvendno = ''ALLSTA'' ORDER BY fpartno FOR XML AUTO',
@templatefile ='F:\temp\Parts.txt'

But the XML file is getting return characters or multiple line breaks every 4000 characters or so. This causes the xml to be invalid, is there a switch or technique to combat this behaviour.

I wish someone would start an Official XML Rant Thread.

BWAHHHAAAAA, I forgot about that.

Holy shoot is that funny, Since I changed my sig to the "...RANT..."
about a month ago when it was ticking me off.....
I haven't seen much of it since I was doing a Project Server rollout/admin/user training thing.

Then here it is to bite me in the ass. Hilarious, XML gods are out to get me for sure. But anyways, What I'm working on dosen't necessarily
need XML. I'm just trying to build some Excel parts catalogs. Because we have some new purchasing people and sometimes they don't know where to start looking for things. The concept is filtered item master list (two or three columns wide) to "hard copy" I will eventually need probably 500 pages per catalogue. So I didn't want to generate each page by hand.

The Excel2003 open XML does a real nice job but maybe some other way is better.

I wish someone would start an Official XML Rant Thread.
