Hello,

I'm executing a DTS package from C# and I'd like to know how you pass the specific error/exception messages in the DTS package to C# instead of just getting the generic "Task 19 failed". How do I do this?

Thanks!

Hm... no one's answering... does this mean that this can't be done?

DTS exposes a full COM object structure that you can program in C#. That would give you a better ability to retrieve error messages, but you would not be able to run it as a package anymore. The program would have to be compiled and run as an executeable (I think, I'm not 100% sure).

Try this site, it's specifically for DTS:

hm.. i can't seem to find it in the site, is it ok if you send the exact link? :)

Also, the solution you're suggesting "sounds" difficult. I just wonder if this means that there's no simpler way.

I couldn't find a particular link at SQLDTS. I just know that whenever I get stumped on a DTS issue I usually find an answer there. Frankly if they don't have something on it then it could be there is no simpler way.

You'll probably get something from Google on "C# DTS". MSDN will probably have something too.
