Hi,I had face a problem with starting the sql server agent, when u try to start it prompts out an error:An Error 5 - (Access is denied) occurred while performing this service operation on the SQLServerAgent service.i'm connecting the database server from another pc, and the SQL server version of tt server pc is SQL server 7.0 , and mine one is SQL server 2000, will it be a conflict with different version?Any ideas or advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

It's more likely permissions related. Either the service logon account doesn't have sql server permission, or your account does not have permission to stop/start the service.-------Moo. :)

May i know where to set this permission so that i can start/stop the service. BTW, while i checked out the SQL Server service in the services lists. It doesn't have such name like MS SQL Server, but MSSQLServerADHelper. Is it the same thing we are looking for ?
