RB_DBA writes "We have SQL Server 2000 sp4 running on w2k3(sp1 is not installed) server with 4gb ram and 4 CPUs. Recently we have been experiencing problems running DTS packages. Errors are sporadic and may occur when package is ran manually or when scheduled as the job. Exact error reads: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionRead (recv()).]General network error. Check your network documentation.I had our network admins monitor network activity, which stays low(utilization under 10% on average) and they even replaced a nic and forced it to 1gb full duplex mode. If I don't reboot the server for few days this problem becomes more persistent, but once server is rebooted it seems to stop for a short while and then reappers again(sometimes it can take days, sometimes hours)I have spend days trying to ivestigate by running traces and using diffrent monitoring tools and have been all over the web trying to find a clue, but can not find an answer. I have seen others report similar problem, but did not find a resolution. It happens locally; users have not seen any problems connecting to the server through ODBC.Please help!!!!" |
