RB_DBA writes "We have SQL Server 2000 sp4 running on w2k3(sp1 is not installed) server with 4gb ram and 4 CPUs. Recently we have been experiencing problems running DTS packages. Errors are sporadic and may occur when package is ran manually or when scheduled as the job.
Exact error reads: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionRead (recv()).]General network error. Check your network documentation.

I had our network admins monitor network activity, which stays low(utilization under 10% on average) and they even replaced a nic and forced it to 1gb full duplex mode. If I don't reboot the server for few days this problem becomes more persistent, but once server is rebooted it seems to stop for a short while and then reappers again(sometimes it can take days, sometimes hours)

I have spend days trying to ivestigate by running traces and using diffrent monitoring tools and have been all over the web trying to find a clue, but can not find an answer. I have seen others report similar problem, but did not find a resolution. It happens locally; users have not seen any problems connecting to the server through ODBC.

Please help!!!!"
