| Big Daddy writes "Here is my problem.I have an Excel file with only one worksheet in it.I have created a DTS package to extract the data into a table. The table has 23 columns.I have one column that for some reason will only pull the same data format as the data in the first row of the column. For example:A01236B and 88030794Both are in the same column. If the alpha numeric data is in data row one in the spread sheet then I can pull that format, if the numeric is first I can pull that but I can't extract both at the sometimes yet other times I can get some of each data format.I have set the column to varchar(10) to make sure there is enough room in the column. To make this real odd, I set the spreadsheet up as a linked server so I could use the query analyzer and I can't SQL the file and see both data formats.I should have stated this earlier. The column in the spreadsheet is formatted as “General.” I know some guru out there will ask that and it could make a difference.—Big Daddy" |
