I asked about this a while back but i'm more clear on the clients request now.

I have two tables one called topics, the other articles....

Topics Articles
------ --------
TopicID ArticleID
ContentLevel TopicID
ParentID ArticleHeading
SectionID etc
TopicHeading
etc

The link is fairly obvious. You may be thinking what i have there is fine, but the client wants the option to be able to have topics that are linked to a particular Topic.

Ie you may have a NEWS item that as a load of sub stories attached to it..

Hence the idea of having contentlevel and parentid in the topics table.

I'm wondering if this is the bset approach. Might i be better having some sort of link table... If so an example of how i might achieve this would be most useful...

cheers
robp
