Hello all,

Recently i have downloaded the sqlserver 2005 on xp operating system
Now i want to configure so that i can access the sql server by the
sql authentication (by username and the password)
Plz tell me the steps to configure the server so that i can access default northwind db.

I assume you are using SQL 2005 Express edition. How are you going to access it - using .NET IDE, management studio or SQLCMD utility. Each of this has option to connect using Windows authentication.

One more thing, SQL Express does not come with Northwind database by default. You will have to download it from Microsoft web site.
