When I right clicked on Security - Linked Servers and select New Link Server, I can only link to a particular database in that server. How can I just link to the server, so I can get data from any database in that server from sharing with one linked server name?

Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can. It may be possible in SQL 2005, I haven't setup any linked servers since SQL 2000.

Yes you can.

when accessing the database use
[srv1].db1.dbo.table
or
[svr1].db2.dbo.table

to add to Khtan's message, you need to also make sure that the user you connect as (to your linked server) also has permissions in the other databases you want to query.
