Hi!

I have problem with the maximum size the text data type.
The text inserted into the database gets truncated at 65000 characters.

I have tried
SET TEXTSIZE 1000000

but without any results.

Could someone please tell me how to expand the capacity of the column.

Thanks!

Max sixe of text datatype is 2,147,483,647.
I doubt if that's your problem.

More likely you method of population or viewing is doing the truncation.

DTS can be used in a similar way.

Thanks for your replies.

I found out, after some testing, that the problem only existed in a php-application. The query worked fine in .net .

It turned out that you had to set the mssql.textlimit and mssql.textsize values higher in php.ini .

It solved the problem for me.
