Thx

In my experience indexes on views cause more problems with Application Code than they are worth.

Can you work around this without having to put an index on the View?

What problem are you trying to solve?

Hi Kristen

I have a view with 280 fields, i only 127000 records but it's very slow...takes 3 minutes to retrieve data.

Have you investigated that the underlying table(s) have appropriate indexes?
Is this some big crosstab of sorts? 280 fields is a lot.

Regarding your question, You'll just have to make sure that all the conditions for createing an index on the view are met.
That means that you might have to recreate table(s) with the correct options set.
