| Can anyone enlighten me on the recent obsession with cursor usage? I know school terms are ending, but there seem to be ENTIRE universities devoted to cursor crap. |

| Some sql programmers want to use Cursor to simulate front end's while or for loop in sql. Because they are new to sql queries they think of row by row than set based approach.
