Morning All,

I was just wondering whether it was possible to check the state of the Full Text Catalog i.e. "idle", "populating" etc. The reason being is I need to rebuild the catalog every hour but searches may still be performed, I want to check that its not populating, if it is, revert to LIKE...

The reason I need to do this is because when using incremental population newly inserted/updated records seem to have an over inflated rank (sometimes as much as a factor of 10 larger...)

Any thoughts are apprechiated.

Thanks.

Tim

I've found the answer, for those of you who may need to check this in the future, check out the SProc "fulltextcatalogproperty" (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ms190370(SQL.90).aspx)

HTH

Tim
