Within a procedure, is it possible to write to files, as with Oracle? I don't see any functions to do this.

There's also dts which I seem to have missed from that page - guess it comes inder com object calls.

Also have a look at the ftp solutions on the same site. It writes a .bat file then executes it.
There's also some stuff on bcp.
