I am getting an error which I do not understand and hope someone can help?

I loaded MSDE SP3a

From a networked host I generated the create sql scripts to create the tables I needed.

I created an extract of those tables from the host into an Access database on my hard disk.

I imported the table into my sql server MSDE tables using the import data option in Enterprise manager and no errors occured.

I looked at the indexes and contraints on the host and none were displayed, (weird as there must be indexes on these tables?)

I checked my copies and they matched the host.

I copied a stored proc from the host which runs fine on the host but when I try to create this stored procedure on my MSDE I get this error:

Server: Msg 446, Level 16, State 9, Procedure ou_rss_losses_list_sp, Line 166
Cannot resolve collation conflict for equal to operation.

I don't know what this means?

When you generated the create scripts, it would have put a collation on the script. This is different to the imported tables collation for some reason.

You can either change the stored proc and add a COLLATE to any = operations you do, or you can change the collation of the offending tables to match.. To do the later, you will need to drop and r-create them (I think)..

Hi, Thnx.

The generated create scripts did have collation staements in them, but if using the import wizard in Enterprise Manager how would I affect the collations? Also I don't understand what these are?

Thnx
