Hi All,
I have a query regarding reading SQL Log.
Suppose I have a table called TabSample1.
Whenever I am updating any data in TabSample1
that new record should be logged in the Log file
as well as the previous data should also exist in log .
But I want to see the both records from the Log file.
Is there any way to expore this from SQL Server end.
Thanks
Arijit

There are lots of tools available in market like Lumigent- LOG EXPLORER. They help you to read log files.

...however, if you like it a bit more cryptic, you can use the undocumented DBCC LOG command.

Sounds like you should investigate triggers and the inserted and deleted pseudotables in BOL.

Yes trigger can help u in this. Set a trigger in Delete event and everytime a delete command is executed it will record the details on a User defined table lets say "Action_Log". Then you can check this tables for details.

I think, I've mentioned that it's undocumented. Therefore you cannot find it in BOL. However, if you google, you'll find plenty of useful links.

Arjit,

This is one of the command which is not documented by Microsoft.

Check the link below for more details.
