I have Created a store procedure i have user following variables but actually i don't know why we use N' . what does it stands for.

@filename1 = N'd:\MSSQL7\data\UserDBName2.mdf',
@filename2 = N'D:\MSSQL7\data\UserDBName2.ldf'

pls advice.

N stands for national.
it means that the string is converted to nvarchar data type that stores one char in 2 bytes.
look up nvarchar in BOL = books online = sql server help.
