hi..

I tried a test between normal query and fulltextsearch.

in sql query analyzer
the table has 25.000 records

from 1 to 500 times
select * from tbl where name='George Bush'
.....
select * from tbl where name='George Bush'

this takes 4 seconds

from 1 to 500 times
select * from tbl where contains(name,'"George Bush"')
.....
select * from tbl where contains(name,'"George Bush"')

this takes 12 seconds

is this normal ?

try this:

select * from tbl where name='%George Bush'

now fulltext search will be the winner

is this possible to use fulltextsearch like "name='george'" instead of "'%george%' and '%bush%'"
