I know in VB I get a "recordset.recordcound = -1", when it's a 'forward-only' recordset, before i read to the end.

It is because the cursor location of the recordset is Server
You have to set it to Client

am aware of that "It is because the cursor location of the recordset is Server - You have to set it to Client"...it's MY desired result.....

Just wanted to point out to the original psoter....that maybe they are misreporting the problem(??)
