Does anyone know why Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) doesn't load up at the startup. I have to run a program that requires MSDE to be present in the system tray. I am running XP Pro for some reason it doesn't start.
However, before when i installed in a different computer it worked fine, its just giving me problem in this computer.

check the MSSQL service in the services control panel. make sure it is set to automatic startup.

You should also have a utility called "SQL Server Service Manager" that handles this automatically.
