| Are there ways to format the result of a query? I am generating a report, and need to include some title text. I can do:SELECT 'Title of Report'But it is a bit crude so was wondering if anyone can direct me to information regarding formatting output?? Thanks in advanceHearty head pats |

well sql server is used for retrieving data not formating it.you can doSELECT 'Title of Report'SELECT other stuff form data which will return 2 dataTables in a Dataset (ado.net)the you can use those datatables to get data and properly format it.Go with the flow & have fun! Else fight the flow  |

| Ha ha ha, actually, that is one of them, but one of the nicer ones!!!??!!?! Ok, I shall tell you the name, but it may not make any sense to you:When at 6th form, me and a group of friends would chill out together and always end up at the local chippie or 24 hour garage to get food. I love my food and have a big appetite, so would order more than most. There was this film that we had recently watched called time bandits, where lots of little dwarfs steal a map from God and use it to travel through time and nick stuff from, for example, Napoleon. Anyway, one of the dwarfs is called 'vermin' and he is always eating. In one scene, they all fall through a time hole and into a barn, where vermin tries to eat a chicken. Another dwarf shouts 'VERMIN...will you stop eating!!!!' Hence, the nickname was given to me one night when we were all wasted!!!! Hearty head pats |

Hey, you shouldn't worry too much about unfortunate nicknames. Allthough I chose my own out of free will I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Merkin by far has the best one.
