| Angel writes "1 of our clients has been having issues with locking, we use VISUAL FOXPRO 6 as a front end and SQL as the back end, so we use a combination of both Sql Stored Procedures as well SQL Pass through from VISUAL FOX PRO, my question is WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS LOCKING ISSUE?, our client called us and said that 1 user starts to cut checks using our Check Module then locks up everyone else. Can anyone pls. lead me into the right direction to resolve this?thanks in Advance!" |

| The reason for locking can be many. But there are some norms to avoid them. Below are few1) Access objects in the same order.2) Avoid user interaction in transactions.3) Keep transactions short and in one batch.4) Use a low isolation level.5) Use bound connections.Regardssachin |
