| Currently our developers are not strong enough to write the majority of the stored procedures required for a project. Our DBA's must complete these procedures. I would like to find out if there is a online tutorial that I can institute to get everyone up to speed to write these queries. Can anyone send me in the right direction? |

| Here is a great referencehttp://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16770It is a rich creamy color with a high fat content of 5-7 percent. Being so high in fat, it is usually processed into butter, cheese, or yogurt. An average cow will produce 110 kg. Milk in a lactation period of an average of 149 days |

| That's funny Brett I was thinking the same thing 'cause I originally posted that it probably wouldn't be a plug'nplay experience 'cause I tried, begged and couldn't buy it.I gave some examples of "thought shift" and one of 'em was "you mean I don't need to loop through that". Then I realized some folks working as dba's might cursor all over the place. At that point I deleted it referenced the contributions by others. It is a rich creamy color with a high fat content of 5-7 percent. | Hey Que that link I gave might not provide the answer you are looking for but I beg of you not to get frustrated because there really isn't a 'We are sending them on training next week solution' buried in there. I know the feeling. I scoured the intenet and still do looking for little tidbits to let me become better or more directed. But you are in a unique position to have a group take on the challenge together. Many struggle alone and in this case the amount of faith required to leap into the relational abyss is best served by a group. The main point is don't get ticked or frustrated when you read. "You need to develop a relational approach" and then you look in the Learning Tree book and there is no 'Relational Approach for Programmers - passing the Codd to the OOP crowd.' It's a bit subtler than that, probably because how would you measure the success of that training? The success is when you hit your self on the forehead because a different part of the brain just kicked in.It is a rich creamy color with a high fat content of 5-7 percent. | Yeah JimL I was going to call "harsh" on that one. This request is close to me cause I came here with the same one but just for myself. This site saved me and gave me great joy. Fortunately I was new to programming in general and didn't have a stubborn mindset.I hear (and have seen) it can be rougher especially when ego gets in the way.Maybe that is why there is no training for it. What instructor could possibly 'deal. I still think a 'Lyceum' approach would be best but I guess that would mean Que would have to step up and take the first leap of and hope his "flying finger set" would follow. It is a rich creamy color with a high fat content of 5-7 percent. | I'd say purchase the two Ken Henderson books mentioned in that other thread. Pass those around. Each developer should read at least the first few chapters.Tara |

| We have training classes here. I refer programmers to the two Ken Henderson books and Sam's Teach Yourself Transact-SQL in 21 Days which is surprisingly a very good book.MeanOldDBAderrickleggett@hotmail.comWhen life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA. |

Seconded. Only observation is that Ken Henderson's "Guru" books jump right in - which might put some starters off - but for people with enough basic knowledge to get into them the acceleration is impressive!.I mean, the first example of an SProc is something which reverse engineers existing SProcs from the database to pull out documentation. Fantastically useful, but pretty hard to fathom for a Newbie!Kristen |
