I was having problem connecting to my database in SQL Server 2000 (in SQL Server 2003 server) in my ASP.NET application using ADO.NET.

I was able to register the SQL Server in my EM, create an ODBC connection and use ADO to connect to this server (I created a testing application just to test connection in VB and is working).

Any ideas of why this is happening? (everything was working fine a few days ago)

Thank you for your help in advance!

Do you have an error message you can give us? It's pretty hard to trouble shoot "generally speaking".

This is the error message:

System.Data.SqlClient SQLException:
SQL Server does not exist or access denied at System.Data.SQLClient.ConnectionPool.GetConnection(Boolean&IsInTransaction)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnectionPoolManager.GetPooledConnection(SqlConnectionString Options, Boolean&IsInTransaction)
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.Open()
at WebVIOXX.SqlHelper.ExecuteDataSet.....

Any ideas? Thanks!

Can you ping the SQL Server IP address?
