| Hi all,I know Zilch about SQL Server and have been assigned to work on a project with VB as front end and SQL Server as backend. I have extensively worked with Access and have a working knowledge of Oracle. Could someone suggest some good books which can get me started and also cover basic DBA?Thanks! |

| HiyaWe have a bunch of good books here http://www.sqlteam.com/store.aspAs a good all rounder, I like Rob Vieira's "Professional SQL Server Programming". The Ken Henderson books are EXCELLENT but possibly not what you want as your first book. Also Inside SQL Server is a great book on the internals with a lot of insider info.Read up on some Amazon reviews as everyones tastes differ, but those books are the ones that ended up on my shelf.Damian |
