I use Visio when I have a need. Works pretty well I think, but there are better products out there. For example ER/Studio by Embarcadero, looks really cool. But expensive as hell.Visio is good and cheap.

Visio seems to be the most popular. Also at http://www.conceptdraw.com/en/ , their product is pretty ok and won't break the bank at $250.Owais

Just a warning.. ERD, while very popular for designing DB's, has major problems when it comes to describing the attributes of a relation. It is good for describing FK's, after all the name of the techinque says it all...DavidM"SQL-3 is an abomination.."

I think these guys offer a free trial http://www.asapsoftware.com/ca/erwin.htmbut depends whether you just want to draw diagrams - or whether you actually want it to snap in and manage constraints....--I hope that when I die someone will say of me "That guy sure owed me a lot of money"
