Hello To All,

This is Manish. Grettings.

Dear Friends my question is, how do i secure my database files,(.mdf, .ldf).
What if i have my MSDE Appliation running on a Win98 Machine.

Need Help

Hi Manish!

It is very hard to secure anything using Windows 98 (the file system does not have security at all). But your best bet is to restrict physical and network access to the machine, by using a locked door and a firewall. If you use a firewall and block off all unused ports, your machine will be somewhat secure. Above all, do not allow access by nbsession. There are plenty of exploits to gain control of machines that way.
