Tony writes "We need to write a SQL Server client for DOS-based radio-enabled handhelds (LXE hardware - DOS is the only option). We have followed the MS examples in the PTK for connecting to DOS but cannot get the supplied libraries to link successfully. There is an unresolved symbol called GETNODE in module DBEXTERN. Hence we cannot build a DOS client exe. We have tried all versions of the Borland C++ compiler with the supplied Borland libraries (BLDBLIB) but all give the same problem. We are now desparately trying to locate a copy of MSVC 1.5 so that we can try the MS library (RLDBLIB), but as this library contains the same symbol we don't anticipate success. Has anyone tried to build a DOS client this way?"
